Privacy Policy

Effective September 11, 2026

SyncVue AI (“SyncVue,” “we,” “us”) provides a video monitoring platform for businesses, delivered through this website, the SyncVue dashboard, and the SyncVue mobile app for iOS and Android. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices available to you. It applies to the web dashboard, the mobile app, and the on-site gateway hardware.

Who this applies to

SyncVue is sold to organizations (“Customers”), and Customers control the cameras and footage on their own account. If you are an employee, contractor, or authorized user accessing SyncVue on behalf of a Customer, your Customer’s agreement with SyncVue and their own internal policies govern how your account is used, in addition to this policy. If you are a person who appears in video captured by a Customer’s cameras, see “Video captured by our Customers” below.

Information we collect

Account and usage information

  • Name, work email, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text) or single sign-on identity when your organization uses Entra ID, Google Workspace, Okta, OneLogin, Auth0, or another SAML/OIDC provider.
  • Organization, role, and permissions within your organization’s account.
  • Device information for the mobile app: device model, OS version, and a push notification token, so we can deliver alerts to your phone.
  • Usage logs: pages viewed, searches run, alerts acknowledged, and API calls, kept for security auditing and to improve the product.

Video captured by our Customers

Cameras, recordings, snapshots, and AI-generated descriptions of scenes are collected and controlled by the Customer that owns the cameras, not by people who merely appear on camera. If you believe you appear in footage captured by a SyncVue Customer and have a question or request about that footage, please contact that business directly; SyncVue acts as their data processor and directs such requests back to the Customer, consistent with our data processing agreements.

Biometric and demographic detections

SyncVue’s AI can optionally infer attributes such as an approximate age range or an emotional tone from video frames. This capability is off by default for every organization and can only be enabled by that organization’s administrator, who is responsible for posting any signage and obtaining any consent required under applicable law, including the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, the Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act, and Washington HB 1493. SyncVue does not perform facial recognition matching against a named individual unless a Customer separately builds and maintains a watchlist for that purpose, in which case the Customer is the data controller for that watchlist.

How we use information

  • To operate the platform: authenticate you, stream live and recorded video, run AI detection, evaluate alert rules, and deliver notifications by email, SMS, and push.
  • To secure the platform: detect fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access, and maintain an audit log of account activity.
  • To support you: respond to help requests and communicate about your account.
  • To improve SyncVue: understand which features are used, in aggregate or de-identified form wherever practical.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only:

  • With service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, including Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage, and video infrastructure) and Anthropic (AI-generated scene descriptions and search).
  • With your organization’s administrators, who can see the activity of accounts within their own organization.
  • With a reseller partner, if your organization was provisioned through one, limited to what that partner needs to support your account.
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of SyncVue, our Customers, or the public.

Data retention

Video and snapshot retention is configured by your organization, typically between 7 and 90 days depending on plan, and is deleted on that schedule. Account and audit data is retained for as long as your organization’s account is active, plus a period afterward as required for legal, tax, or security purposes.

Your choices

  • You can request an export of the personal data we hold about your account from Settings in the dashboard or the mobile app.
  • You can request deletion of your account and personal data the same way; video retained by your organization for a separate legal or contractual reason is handled by your organization’s administrator, not by this request.
  • You can disable push notifications and camera location access at any time from your device’s settings.
  • Biometric detections, where enabled by your organization, can be turned off by your organization’s administrator at any time.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to Customer video and data is scoped by organization and enforced at the data layer, not just in the interface. We do not store camera passwords outside of a dedicated secrets manager.

Children

SyncVue is a business product and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect account information from anyone under 16.

International transfers

SyncVue is hosted in the United States. If you access SyncVue from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes to this page and update the effective date above. Material changes will also be communicated to organization administrators by email.
